Why EMC Design Review?
Imagine getting through the final EMC testing of your new product without the pain of going through modifications and extra board spins late in the development process.
Cost-effective EMC design
An EMC Design Review gives you access to the expertise and knowledge of DELTA's engineers, a result of working with EMC since 1944.
One of Delta's EMC experts will carry out a thorough examination of your product, schematics and PCB design so that they can then evaluate the product
The result is an optimised and cost-effective design.
Time is money
When a product fails the first EMC tests, initial trouble-shooting may take weeks before design modifications can be implemented, at the same time you risk introducing entirely new problems.
On schedule with limited cost
An EMC Design Review early in the development process will add quality to your design at a stage where changes and modifications have a limited impact on project schedules and costs, thereby allowing you to introduce your new product to the market as planned.
What is an EMC Design Review?
The result is based on EMC requirement specifications, EMC test plans and the information provided by you prior to and during the design review.
DELTA will evaluate your design in relation to a comprehensive list of EMC related phenomena. We will point out potential causes of failure and suggest design changes to help the design meet the specified EMC requirements.
Robustness
We will also discuss the robustness of the design relative to the usage environment of the final product.
The design review meeting
We recommend that the meeting is held at your company giving relevant colleagues the opportunity to participate and update their EMC knowledge.
The meeting typically lasts three to four hours.
Timing
When is the right time to do an EMC Design Review?
The earlier the better as it gives you the most value for money.
Usually an EMC Design Review meeting is held as soon as the electrical diagrams and/or print board lay-out are ready.
Preparation for the EMC Design Review
Relevant documentation is forwarded to DELTA at least two weeks before the date of the Design Review.
This will include some or all of the following:
- Digital photos of relevant material
- EMC specification
- Technical diagrams
- Electrical diagrams
- Print board layout
- Information on the environment
Documentation
In addition to the advice, discussions and feedback received during the meeting, you can choose to order the information in a short report (checklist), which will be created during and after the meeting and subsequently sent to you.
